Event Review - HKBU AI Force Workshop Series: AI – The Open Source Story
The HKBU AI Force Workshop Series delved into the open source aspect of Artificial Intelligence (AI), with Sammy guiding participants through the landscape of AI. His comparison between Open AI and Open Source AI, particularly regarding ethical standards and collaborative coding environments, offered insights into the industry's openness spectrum. FUNG discussed AI models, including GPT, DALL-E 2, LLaMA 2, and Falcon, and highlighted open source principles, AI development processes, and notable open source AI tools. He also commended the Open Source Initiative (OSI) for their contributions in defining and deeply analyzing the open-source process.

A little bit of History - The Lineage of HKOSCon
The Linuxpilot Vol. 129 in October 2013 outlined the beginning of an incredible journey for the Hong Kong Open Source Conference. A joint effort by the Hong Kong Linux User Group, Opensource Application Knowledge Association, and Open Source Hong Kong, it laid the foundation for what would become an important annual event. As we enter the next decade of HKOSCon, we proudly hand over the leading organizer role to HKCOTA in 2023, confident that Open Source Hong Kong's support will continue to foster the unique open-source spirit of this event. Time may pass, but the essence and energy of open-source innovation endure.
